What we collect
When you create a GreenThumb account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide. When you use the plant identification or AI chat features, the images and text you submit are processed to generate responses. We store your plant library, care plans, and conversation history so the app works across sessions.
How we use your data
We use your data exclusively to provide and improve the GreenThumb service. Your plant photos and queries are sent to AI processing services to generate identification results and gardening advice. We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your content to train AI models without explicit consent.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Authentication is handled via secure OAuth flows and session tokens. We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as required by law.
Third-party services
GreenThumb uses the following third-party services: Supabase (database and authentication), AI model providers (for plant identification and chat), and payment processors (for subscription billing). Each of these services operates under their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to delete your account and all associated data, or opt out of non-essential data processing at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@greenthumb.app. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your authentication session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, which will log you out of the app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice before they take effect. Continued use of GreenThumb after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
